How a quote is built
Every step is visible on the Quote Calculator, so you can see where the price comes from.
- Enter the home: bedrooms, bathrooms (0.5 for a half bath), square feet, clean type, condition, frequency, round-trip miles and add-ons.
- Minutes: setup, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas, using your speeds for Standard, Deep or Move-in/out, times the condition multiplier.
- Cost: labor (wage plus labor burden), supplies, travel (fixed plus miles) and overhead. That's your break-even price.
- Price: cost ÷ (1 − margin), rounded up to your step and never below your minimum. Add-ons go on top, and recurring visits get your discount.
- Checks: red if the price is below break-even or below your target hourly wage, amber if the margin is under your goal. Type any price to test it.

Good to know
- The Job Log uses your current Settings for labor, travel and overhead, so if you change your wage, past jobs are recalculated.
- In Excel, protected sheets don't allow inserting rows. Unprotect them (Review › Unprotect Sheet, no password) if you want to change the layout.
- The Client Quote lists up to 9 add-on lines.
- The invoice leaves the sales-tax line blank, with a note to check your state's rules.
Questions
How does the calculator come up with a price?
It estimates the job's cleaning minutes from your own speeds (setup, kitchen, per bedroom, per bathroom, per 100 sq ft) for Standard, Deep or Move-in/out cleans, then adjusts for the home's condition. It adds labor cost (wage plus labor burden), supplies, travel and overhead, prices that at your profit margin, rounds up to your step (for example $5), and never goes below your minimum job price. Add-ons go on top, and recurring visits get your discount.
Are the default numbers the right prices for my area?
They're starting assumptions ($25/hr wage, 12% burden, 25% margin, $120 minimum and so on), not market research. Put in your own wage, costs and timed cleaning speeds. That's what makes the prices yours.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the .xlsx to Google Drive, open it, then choose File › Save as Google Sheets. Google Sheets doesn't keep Excel's formula protection, so type only in the yellow cells there.
Can I put my logo on the quotes and forms?
Yes. The Client Quote tab and every form have a logo box and [Your Business Name]-style placeholders.
Is the mileage rate a tax deduction figure?
The vehicle cost per mile is prefilled with the IRS 2026 business standard mileage rate (76¢ from July 1, 2026), but here it's only used to estimate trip cost for pricing. Change it to your own number if you like. It's not tax advice.
Can I get a refund?
Bought on this website and changed your mind before we've emailed your files? Email support@zambrworks.com and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked. Once the files are sent, they can't be returned, so there are no change-of-mind refunds, but if something doesn't work or isn't what you expected, contact us and we'll make it right. Etsy purchases are an instant download, so the before-sending refund doesn't apply to them; see the terms.
